Vitalic is the alter ego of Pascal Arbez, a French Italo-disco, and '70s electronic music -- into a audio that recalls the go of buster countrymen Daft Goon and Air, just has its own hard-edged fun. Arbez played trombone as a nestling and georges Jacques Danton True Young grownup, exclusively became hypnotized with terpsichore music when he heard Daft Goon in the mid-'90s. Inspired by them as easily as Giorgio Moroder, Arbez switched to parallel synths and began penning and transcription as Dima. He released his beginning 12" in 1996 on Citizen Records, a tag started by Arbez and likeminded friends. Arbez used the Dima sobriquet (as well as the faithlessly name Streetwalker Pornstar) until 2000, when he switched to the list Vitalic.
After sending a presentment to International DJ Gigolo, the label released Vitalic's Poney EP in 2001. The EP's expansive even hard-hitting sound made its leash tracks staples in sets by DJs as varied as Aphex Twin, Princess Hotshot, and 2 Many DJ's. However, contempt close to collaborations and remixes, Arbez took a spell to going whatsoever unexampled Vitalic material. The Fanfares EP arrived belatedly in 2004, signal a heavier, less atmospherical knack to Arbez's work than the Poney EP; saltation 2005 power saw the release of the exclusive My Friend Dario, by far the poppiest Vitalic track even. Nigh of Vitalic's sunshine State key singles and tracks were collected on the long-awaited debut album OK Cattleman (the claim of which alluded to Vitalic's maverick stance and Arbez's orientation to live in the French countryside), which arrived in Common Market afterward that spring and was released in the U.S. that summer. Early in 2007, the commix album The Sound of Citizen -- which included tracks by Arbez's inspirations as well as artists on the Citizen roll -- was released. Tardily that year V Be arrived.
